A creature defeated by logic
In most mythologies, there are many riddles and puzzles to be solved as part of a Hero’s quest, and many of these lead to the defeat of an ‘evil’ creature. The Sphynx is known for its riddles, the Minotaur for his maze, and the Kraken is a devil for scrabble.
However, there are other creatures out there that are so driven by logical conclusions that they are directly defeated by a lack of sense. For example, the Bugblatter Beast believes that if you cannot see it, it cannot see you, and so breaking eye contact is enough to make you invisible in its eyes.
It can also be applied to any cat that cannot operate a catflap or dogs that don’t realise that the animal guarding the doorway is merely its reflection.
