Reading simple stories or nursery rhymes to cure an aliment

Recalling the age-old practice of Mothers (and Fathers, and Widgets, and all the other types that may exist) reading to sick young ones, some stories are psychosomatic, promoting well-being and jolly good larks all round. In addition, enchanted books can provide a more direct means of healing: reading some books invokes the spirit of characters that can heal specific issues, while there are even some that will actually absorb wounds and illnesses into the stories.

These newly grim fairytales should not be viewed on a full stomach, especially if it happens to be a picture book and as such these tombs eventually have to be locked away and burned as soon as possible. They can become pretty nasty after generations of catching interesting diseases, exotic to the modern era, such as the plague or Wombles.
